Welcome to the Park Slope Reader, the only publication that is locally owned and operated.

Park Slope and the adjoining communities around Prospect Park are unique in the New York City landscape — one that has its own identity and that deserves it’s own voice. That’s why we began the Reader a few years ago. Our intention is to foster greater awareness about these dynamic neighborhoods through editorial and advertising. We intend to bring our streets to life on our pages, highlighting its people and businesses; the writers, artists, merchants, organizations and individuals who live and work among us. We report on events and issues that are important to us all. We publish quarterly (Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall). Fifteen thousand copies are distributed and redistributed in many of the local restaurants and shops every week.
